Processing time
Short stay visas
Within three working days most of the visas will be issued. If not, the
applicant should call to the call-centre and ask for status.
Long stay visas
Work permit - professional card
Visas are generally issued within 3 working days if the file is complete.
Other categories
Processing times may vary considerably since most of the applications need to
be submitted to the "Office des étrangers/Dienst Vreemdelingenzaken" (Ministry
of Interior).
If your file has been sent to the "Office des étrangers/Dienst
Vreemdelingenzaken" you can check the progress of your application at
www.dofi.fgov.be (you will need to enter your file number). You can
also call the helpdesk in Belgium at +32-2 206 15 99.
